PawCreate wanted to develop some retro style customizable art prints to the store. They wanted customers to be able to choose a dog or cat breed for the art. So I was tasked with making this happen. I wanted it to feel upscale and not cheesy, and that can be a hard thing to do with pet-themed art. I did make the pet a bold part of this art print, but I did balance it with a matching blue splash and a striking dark brown text and shape in the lower half of the print to balance that out. So the pet figure is seen, but not a distraction from the harmony of the art. I decided on a Bauhaus style because I felt it was both a vintage yet modern form of art print. Once I had decided that I then began to develop more than 100 different breed options.
