A client had given me several video clips that were shot on an iPhone. They had made the mistake of shooting everything vertically and didn't want to tell the artist there was an issue. I decided on an 80s split-screen approach that would take advantage of the vertical video making it appear intentional. To mask the image degradation that happened on some of the clips when they needed to be blown up, I utilized a few different vintage film styles.
I am happy to say that both my client (who knew what the issues were) and the artist (who had no idea there was anything that needed to be fixed) were extremely happy with the final video.
